THE CPR DOC
What class involves, and the agreement between us.
This agreement covers everyone who attends a CPR Doc class. You accept it when you book or attend a class. For participants under 18, a parent or legal guardian accepts it on their behalf. You may also be asked to sign a printed copy at class.
CPR and first aid training is hands-on. Expect light physical activity: kneeling and working at floor level, chest compressions on manikins, rescue-breathing practice, recovery-position and choking-relief practice with a manikin or partner, and use of AED trainers. Nothing in class involves real emergencies or real patients.
You know your body better than anyone. If you have a condition that could make physical practice risky, such as a recent surgery, a heart condition, pregnancy, or a joint injury, check with your doctor before class and tell your instructor when you arrive. You are welcome to observe any portion of class; keep in mind that certification requires completing the hands-on skills, and we are glad to work out reasonable accommodations where possible.
Like any physical activity, practice carries minor risks, such as muscle soreness or a strain. By participating, you voluntarily accept those ordinary risks of training.
To the fullest extent permitted by Arizona law, you release The CPR Doc, LLC, its owners, instructors, and staff from claims for injury or loss arising from ordinary participation in class activities. This release does not cover gross negligence or willful misconduct, and it does not limit rights that cannot be waived under law.
Our classes teach emergency response skills following nationally recognized programs. Class does not constitute medical advice, and completing a course does not guarantee outcomes in a real emergency. When in doubt in real life, call 911.
Manikins and equipment are sanitized between students and between classes. If you're sick, please don't attend: we will move you to another date at no charge, no matter how late the notice.
We only photograph students with their permission, and never minors without a guardian's okay. If you would rather not appear in photos, just say so and that's that.
This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Arizona. If any portion is found unenforceable, the rest still stands. By booking or attending a class, you (or the guardian of a minor participant) confirm that you have read and accept this agreement.
